ABOUT 

 

Ms. Deacon is a registered Psychologist with the PEI Psychologists Registration Board (PEIPRB #051) holding a Masters of Arts in School Psychology from Mount Saint Vincent University (2008).  She has a full-time Private Practice with daytime and evening hours Monday through Friday providing both Therapeutic Intervention, as well as Psycho-Educational Assessment, to children, youth, and families.   She is currently the Vice President of the Psychologists Association of PEI, as well as a Board Member for the PEI Psychologists Registration Board.  

 

Ms. Deacon has extensive experience in Psycho-Educational Assessment of School Aged Children, including the diagnosis and treatment of learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, and social-emotional problems. Having worked within the school system Ms. Deacon is knowledgeable regarding evidence-based intervention, academic and behavioral program planning, and collaborating with families, schools, and other professionals.

 

In addition to extensive assessment experience, Ms. Deacon has also treated a wide range of Anxiety Disorders in children and youth using a primarily Cognitive-Behavioral Approach, while also integrating other evidence-based strategies. Ms. Deacon also works with individuals and families to support the development of emotional and behavioral regulation, particularly as it relates to behavioral disorders such as ADHD.
